| Date: June 13 - 14 Stops: Rhinelander & Hurley WI Miles: Approximately 480 miles round trip Fees: $10 entry fee for show & cruise Accomodations: Reservations & Room Fees are your responsibility (see below for details) The plan is to leave the Blaine Home Depot (35W & Lexington) between 7:30 & 8:00am on Saturday the 13th. The drive to Rhinelander is approximately 207 miles. The route we will be taking is scenic, mostly 2 lane roads through the small Wisconsin towns. Driving will be at your leisure, stopping for fuel, lunch, or whatever as you wish. Once in Rhinelander (Saturday night) we will have a social hour from 4 to 6pm at the Americ-Inn parking lot (where most of us will be staying) then head over to the car show! Recent News: The car show is from 10:00am to 3pm. We're bumping up the departure time to arrive in Rhinelander closer to the start time of the show. * At 4:00pm the attendees of the show are invited on a cruise around the Rhinelander area. Again, it's a 2-lane blacktop cruise, and will depart in two groups - a faster (50+mph) and a slower (50-ish mph) group. * The cruise will be a circle returning to Rhinelander in about 1-1/2 to 2hrs. *There will be a Corvette Club from the TC area attending as well, and we are trying to get them to band together with us for the ride home on Sunday. **Additional Things to Do!!** I'm the chair of the Rhinelander Relay for Life event and this years theme is "Cruis'n for A Cure". As Denny said we are partnering with Headwaters Corvette Club to plan a cruise or as Denny says "Running the Ones" in downtown from 5-8 PM on June 12. A portion of Davenport will be closed off and we will have music, jumping house for kids, a booth selling luminaries, selling tickets for raffle baskets, dunk tank "Dunking Doc's" from the hospital, and a kid's passport event coordinated by DRI. We will also give our teams the opportunity for their "Dude" contestants to strut their stuff and people can vote for their favorite "dude" by making a monetary donation. The "dude" with the most money raised will be crowned "2009 Dude Be A Lady" at the relay event on Friday June 19 at RHS Mike Webster stadium. I do know that Bucket heads is also having a Battle of the Band contest. I am waiting to hear from DRI as to what downtown businesses want to partner with our relay teams for this event. If you would like to share this information with the gentleman from the North Star Chevelle club, we would love to have them participate in the cruise and other events taking place on June 12. You can reach me by email or phone at 499-0711. Thank you. Debra Crabb, Chair Rhinelander Relay for Life Sunday morning the tour moves to Hurley, approximately 80 miles, for a late breakfast/brunch. We plan to arrive there before noon. After brunch we'll head back to Minneapolis. You are on your own for meals. Bring a cooler, dine out, whatever. This ride is meant to be "FUN".... so it's not very structured. Bring the family, come alone, it's your choice. Route Map - 1st Leg Route Map - Sunday A.M.
